Would you like to hold a trade night in conjunction with CMA at your

Federal Awards

A number of significant changes to the Australian industrial relations system have been introduced including the introduction of the Fair Work Act, National Employment Standards and the replacement of all Federal Awards with a rationalised system of "Modern Awards" to take effect from the 1st January 2010. CMA has updated the information provided to members and included full information in the members area of the website.
 Transitional provisions apply to a number of the changes made and these are

 

The 2009 CMA Awards Night held at the Sofitel Melbourne in the Grand Ballroom was a night to remember with the ultimate award going to GMD Architechtural Joinery.

 
The CMA's Commercial Documentation is now available and can be viewed in the ‘Members Only’section of the website. The copies on the website are for information purposes only. Should you wish to obtain a set of these documents for use, please email the CMA Office on cindies@cmavic.com.au
 

Please ensure your email contains your full business name as you would like it to appear on the documents. If you have a logo you wish to add, please attach a high resolution .jpg file (greyscale if possible).

 

Note that these documents are provided by the association for use by financial members at no cost – the copyright is retained by CMA and members are advised to seek legal advice if they intend to make any changes to the documents.

 

Launch of the new CMA Major Domestic Building Contract - The recent launch of the CMA's new Major Domestic Building Contract and range of Commercial Documentation by the Minister for Consumer Affairs was hailed a great success with around 130 guests in attendance. The CMA would like to gratefully acknowledge the effort from Albedor Industries in hosting the event.

·        2009 Award entries open 15th february 2009  Expressions of interest from financial members of the CMA will be received from the 15th of February 2009 for entries in the 2009 CMA Annual Awards. The 2009 annual awards night will be held at the Sofitel Melbourne on the 28th August 2009 in the ballroom.

 
04/2009 RBP & Regional Meeting Series

·       The CMA recently announced a series of Regional Meetings. The purpose of the meetings is to provide a networking opportunity for our members. At the meetings there will be industry experts discussing the latest industry news including the upcming Indusrial Relations changes affecting the cabinet making industry.

 In conjunction with the regional meetings the CMA is holding workshops on becoming a 'Registered Building Practitioner'. To view dates and details for these Meetings and Workshops click here

 
02/2009 CMA Quantum Quartz Golf Day  - winners are grinners!

o      The Cabinet Makers Association held its annual golf day at the Box Hill Golf Club on Friday 13th March 2009. The day dawned bright and clear with little wind, making it a beautiful day to be away from the office. Ar great time was had by all participants, and a vote was taken to hold the Golf Day at the same course again on March 19, 2010.  Click here to see pictures of the winners (and losers) from the day

10/2008 New members special offer
A recent decision by the CMA committee has seen the introduction of a special offer to new members. Any business applying for membership who is a current member of a similar association and can provide satisfactory evidence will receive a full credit of the unexpired portion of their membership with the alternate organisation upon payment of a full years membership fee. Any business that is not a member of a like organisation will receive an additional two months membership credit upon payment of 12 months membership fee.
